Art of Music

Due to the enormous success of previous Art of Music events, Nordoff-Robbins is proud to announce that a third Art of Music event will be staged at the Art Gallery of New South Wales on Saturday 29 May 2010.

Inagurated by celebrated singer-songwriter and Nordoff-Robbins Ambassador Jenny Morris, this inspiring event raises much needed funds for Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy. Jenny Morris and Nordoff-Robbins present a unique event that combines visual arts and music where ten prominent contemporary Australian visual artists are invited to create an original work inspired by their chosen iconic song. The project culminates with a dinner and auction of the paintings at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

Come and rub shoulders with the who's who of art and music in Australia.

Tickets are $400 each (which includes a tax deductible donation of $250 or other such amount). Tables of ten are $4,000.

The night will also includes a few performances from Australia's leading singer/songwriters.

Participating artists are; David Griggs, Nicholas Harding, Todd Hunter, Alan Jones, Robert Klippel, Euan Macleod, Amanda Marburg, Reg Mombassa, James Powditch and Ben Quilty.

The artist’s inspiration for their works have come from songs by Bernard Fanning, The Church, Split Enz, The Waifs, AC/DC, Nick Cave, Crowded House and Wagons.
